Hey, girl, hey! Quick question what are your favorite skincare products? Oh, you don’t have any? Great! I’m always here to put y’all up on game and offer any help that I can to minimize your searches on Google (we know that can be daunting). If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I am all about skincare, so I thought it would be a great idea to make a blog post that will live here forever. And, these products are dedicated to melanated skin!

  • SheaMoisture African Black Soap Collection: Quite frankly, you need the whole collection because, why not? But, for now, I will highlight my favorite three. The Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying Foaming Facial Wash is the perfect product to cleanse your skin and prevent bacteria build-up. It works perfectly for those with combination skin or if it is typically oily. If you don’t care for foam washes, they also have a Clarifying Facial Wash & Scrub. Scrubs make you feel like you’ve washed away ALL of the dirt, so I get it! This one, in particular, is a great exfoliator and helps those who are prone to blemishes. After getting your skin nice and clean. It’s time to bring on the Balancing Moisturizer. The smoothness and coolness of the cream will leave you feeling so relaxed! Oh, yea, their products contain natural ingredients such as shea butter, tea tree oil, and aloe!
  • Black Girl Sunscreen: If you didn’t already know about this sunscreen, let me put you on real quick! Once I discovered this glow, I haven’t turned to another sunscreen since. The way it melts on your skin and leaves you with a nice shine, you can’t beat that! It is paraben free, vegan, and cruelty-free. And, the best part is, the sunscreen doesn’t leave a residue on your skin. IYKYK!
  • Tula: Their website is full of various products, so they have you take a quiz to find the right choices for you. Isn’t that cool? Here is the quiz if interested: https://www.tula.com/pages/skincare-finder. But, the products that I use are the following: Super Calm Gentle Milk Cleanser, Beauty Sleep Overnight Repair Treatment, Super Soothe Calming Moisturizing Lotion, Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm, and lastly, the Protect & Glow Daily Sunscreen. The goal is to have a constant glow and reduce any signs of aging! All of Tula’s products contain toxic-free formulas!
  • Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion: I genuinely love all of Aveeno’s products because they cater to my sensitive skin and eczema. The reason the moisturizing lotion is my favorite is that it’s specifically for dry skin. Its formula contains ingredients such as soothing oatmeal that lock in moisture. You won’t catch me slipping in the colder months with dry skin. That’s a big no-no. Plus, it’s fragrance-free! That allows me to still use perfumes without the smells clashing together.
  • Cerave Moisturizing Cream: This cream is one of my newest additions, but after finishing a whole container of it, I realized that it would be around to stay! The hydration that it gives my skin is rewarding, and it replenishes as well. Also, I love that it was developed with dermatologists and is hypoallergenic!

Now, of course, every product isn’t made to fit every skin type, but what I listed is tried & true for me. I am very cautious of what I put on my skin due to sensitivity, and I can honestly say that these products do no cause any sort of irritation or breakouts, they only help to improve. I certainly hope this guide helps you in any way, or that you can help someone else! Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever tried any, or have any other suggestions. I would love to add to my list!
