Girl, REST. You Need It!

I may be the biggest advocate there is on self-care. As women, we often are stuck in “go-mode,” taking care of everything and everyone else. Cooking, cleaning, running errands, taking care of the kids, and the list goes on. We run ourselves to the ground trying to make everything happen.

Who Takes Care Of You?

Here are some ways that you can have some self-care without breaking the bank.

Mini Spa Day: Who loves a good spa day but does not like to dish out the coins? I think everyone can agree. So what is an alternative? Spa day at home! Amazon has an inexpensive foot spa massager to give your feet the nice, smooth feeling of being at a nail salon. But do not stop there. Run yourself a hot bath, and be sure to use Dr. Teals Sooth & Sleep bubble bath.

And Please Do Not Forget The Wine!

Relax, pour yourself a glass of Stella Rosa Red Blend or Peach. Trust me; you will not regret it.

“Budget Friendly” Shopping Spree: I am ALL about a sale or clearance rack! No shame in my game. Some of my favorites come from Ross Dress for Less, Charlotte Russe, and H&M. In these stores, you will discover clothing and shoes for every personality and body type. Plus, in every store, you can piece together an outfit for under $30. Anything from everyday wears to cute and casual.

Most Importantly…

Be a Sleeping Beauty: You are not a machine nor the Energizer Bunny; you need rest. Often, it is hard for us to turn off our brains and close our eyes for a moment. But guess what? DO IT. Put on your favorite PJs, play some white noise music, and grab a snack. One of my go-tos is BOOM CHICKA POP Kettle Corn popcorn. If you really want to add to the calming effect, wear a face mask (not the real ones, a skincare one).

We have to remember that self-care should not be a reward for being overworked and burnt out. Self-care needs to be apart of our weekly routine. If you are not giving your all to yourself, how can you give your all to someone else?
