I’m not afraid to admit that I used to be “anti-makeup.” Yes, I was one of those girls. I always felt like makeup wasn’t needed because I’m naturally pretty. Although that is a true statement, I still found myself in the MAC store in 2017, looking for guidance on what to buy.

Well, it only took me several years later, and much practice to realize you can accomplish a bomb look with inexpensive products, especially for beginners! This blog post is dedicated to the girlies who want to wear makeup but don’t know where to start or for those who want the scoop on products for the low-low.

Foundation:

The possibilities with foundation are endless, whew! But, the two that are tried and true for me are Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Liquid Foundation ($39) and Juvia’s Place I Am Magic Foundation ($22). IMO they both blend well on my skin, provide long-wear coverage and don’t cause any discoloration.

Brow Pencil:

I have used a few different eyebrow pencils, but when I discovered the E.L.F. Instant Lift Brow Pencil ($3), I realized she is THAT girl! When my brows are threaded, or even when they aren’t, this brow pencil gives me a defined look. Like, how can you beat $3??

Concealer:

Honestly, I’ve only been using concealer for the last year. Before, I didn’t think there was really a use for it, and I thought I would look a mess if I tried lol. Anyway, L.A. Girl HD Pro.Conceal ($5) is a must have. When I use the concealer with my brow pencil, listen, my brows are SNATCHED!

Eyeshadow:

I’m not loyal to a specific brand for eyeshadow, mainly because I don’t wear it often. I usually wear it when I’m going for a bold, noticeable look. However, I like to dibble and dab in a store called Miss A because most of their products are $1! If you don’t want to spend a lot of coins, this is your place. Currently, they are only in Dallas, TX, but you can also order online.

Setting Spray:

Milani Make It Last Setting Spray ($10) is another product I’ve recently started using. Don’t be like me. When you begin to wear makeup, start using a setting spray so that your look will last all day. A few sprays go a long way!

As a fellow makeup beginner (I feel like I’ve been promoted to beginner-intermediate lol), I’m confident these products will help! You don’t have to spend a lot of money to look good. Trust me.

Stay cute!
